#BayelsaDecides: Diri Wins His Polling Unit For PDP
Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has sent a word of advice to residents of the state and Nigerians as they go out to vote for their preferred presidential and senatorial candidates today.

Naija News reports that the 2023 general elections commence today, and millions of eligible Nigerians will go out to decide their fate for the next four years.

Due to this, Diri, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urged the people to conduct themselves peacefully as they exercise their civic responsibilities today.

The governor gave the admonition via his official social media page as he confirmed his arrival at his home country, Sampou, in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

“I am safely in my country home of Sampou in Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA of Bayelsa State ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections today. I urge our people to come out en masse to cast their votes and conduct themselves in a peaceful manner. Truly, election is not war,” the PDP chieftain wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday morning.

Naija News recalls that Governor Diri recently mourned his father, Abraham Michael Joseph Diri.

The Governor’s father passed away in early February at the age of 88 years. Pa Diri, until his death, was a retired Headmaster, devout Christian, and man of exemplary humility.
