Following the commencement of a full-scale investigation into the alleged extrajudicial killings in Anambra State, the Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has said that people must come physically to prove the allegations and documents unearthed in the process.

Adejobi, while interacting with some Nigerians on Twitter on the reason why the alleged killers were not yet place on suspension, stressed that whistleblowers, such as Gistlover, must be willing to give more information and testify to corroborate with the allegations of murder and organ harvest.

He maintained that the Police force had embarked on forensic investigations and analysis but they needed people to still come up and prove the evidence with them.

He wrote: “These are not financial matters, so the whistle blowers in this case must be ready to give more info, while the victims will be ready to testify and corroborate. These are allegations of murder, kidnapping, organ harvest, etc,

“So u dont act or prosecute without direct, empirical facts. It’s a legal matter. So it’s not whistle Blowing as usual. You may seek help from ur lawyer if you wish to know more. Be guided pls. Cheers..”

When asked why the polices involved were not placed under suspension, he replied: “On what?? Let people come physically to prove the allegations and documents sent. Corroboration is key here. While we embark on forensic investigation and analysis of the info sent to us, we need people to still come up to prove and corroborate evidence. Thanks.”

This publication earlier reported that an anonymous Instagram blog, Gistlovers, published videos of victims in captive and morgue alleging that a senior police officer, identified as Patrick Agbazue, in Anambra state  is involved in the kidnapping, murder of citizens, and selling their body parts as well forcefully taking ownership of their properties.

The blog further alleged that Patrick and his team are worse than their predecessor, James Nwafor, who was accused of similar crimes during his tenure as head of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Anambra.

Reacting to the allegations on Friday, Adejobi said that Patrick and other alleged accomplices reported to the force headquarters in Abuja today (Friday).

He noted that the panel set up to probe the extrajudicial killings was given two weeks to come up with a report of investigation.

Adejobi added that the IG has assured that the findings of the investigations will determine the next line of action while promising that the Nigeria Police Force will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is done in the case and sanctions meted to any officers found guilty.
