My Senatorial Election Loss Was Planned By Aso Rock - Ortom

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has secured an interim court order barring the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from taking any action against him as regards contesting on the party’s platform in the 2023 elections.

Naija News understands the order issued by the High Court sitting in Makurdi, prevents PDP from suspending, expelling, or giving any form of punishment against Ortom pending the determination of an interlocutory injunction filed before Justice A I. Ityomyiman of the same court.

The order also restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from taking any action against Ortom in the forthcoming election where he is standing as the PDP candidate for the Benue North senatorial district.

The order directed all stakeholders to maintain status quo pending the determination of an interlocutory injunction filed before Justice Ityomyiman.

It is understood some stakeholders in the PDP had moved to take action against Ortom for alleged anti-party activities as touching the alleged open support of the G5 Governors for an opposition presidential candidate other than the presidential flagbearer of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

It would be recalled that the G5, also known as the Integrity Group, includes Governor Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Governor Samuel Ortom (Benue), Governor Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

The aggrieved governors have been at loggerheads with the PDP national leadership and have vowed to boycott the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar except Iyorchia Ayu resigns his position as the party’s National Chairman and is replaced by a southerner.
