“Undue, Unlawful And Invalid” - Atiku Tells Tribunal Why Tinubu Can't Be President Of Nigeria

Two candidates on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have denied any association with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

According to them, the rumours that they were supporting Tinubu ahead of the forthcoming polls were actions of mischievous people

Naija News reports that both the PDP candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District, Chief Ifedayo Adedipe, and his counterpart for Akure South/North Federal Constituency, Princess Kemisola Adesanya, on Sunday debunked reports of supporting the APC flag bearer.

It was gathered that their reactions follows the flooding of Akure town with campaign posters of Tinubu which had photographs of Adedipe and Adesanya, insinuating Tinubu’s endorsement of their candidature.

However, at a press briefing on Sunday to address the issue, both of them insisted that the said trickery and malicious campaign posters were ploys to discredit them.

They told pressmen at the PDP State Secretariat in Akure, that a group of faceless individuals who tagged themselves as Akure Progressive Forum were allegedly behind the “mischievous campaign posters.”

They explained that it was a ploy to divert attention away from the party ahead of the election, as they maintained that they had no political alliance with Tinubu or anyone.

While they restated their support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, they said “We are here to further respond to posters pasted within Akure metropolis displaying our pictures with those of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, purportedly designed and pasted by a group of people called Akure Progressive Forum. We will like to say with emphasis that this group is unknown to us.

“We are candidates for the Peoples Democratic Party and have no connection whatsoever with the said group.

“Although we welcome support from members of other political parties who believe in our personalities and ability to represent them well at the National Assembly, our belief in and support for our great party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is total, unalloyed, and unflinching.”
