2023: Keyamo Speaks On Peter Obi’s Candidacy

The spokesperson for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo has come out to mock the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain asserted that it was impossible for Obi to win the presidential race.

Naija News reports that Keyamo took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to debunk a report alleging that he said the APC was taken aback by Obi’s popularity.

According to him, the said report is fake news and APC never said so.

Instead, Keyamo noted that Obi stepping into the Presidential Villa could be compared to a camel passing through the eye of a needle.

He wrote: “FAKE NEWS ALERT! A certain quote making the rounds on social/m where I purportedly said, “We never saw Peter Obi coming, he took us all by surprise, the only mistake we made in APC bla bla” is fake news. Obi entering the Villa is like a camel passing through the eye of a needle.”

Meanwhile, Naija News reported on Sunday that the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, just a few weeks before the commencement of the 2023 general elections, appointed Mahmud Jega as his Special Adviser on Public Affairs.

It was gathered that Jega is an ace columnist. He resigned last year as columnist and chairman of the Editorial Board of Daily Trust.

A statement, however, made available to newsmen on Sunday by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, confirmed Jega’s appointment.

The appointment, according to him, was to strengthen the APC presidential candidate’s media office. The former Governor of Lagos State also appointed Abdulaziz Abdulaziz as his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

Rahman noted in the statement obtained by Naija News that the two appointees would deploy their expertise and deep understanding of political issues across the country, particularly the north, in shoring up the activities of the media team.
