Just In: List Of PDP Governors In Attendance As Meeting With Wike Begins

The Governor of Rivers State,  Nyesom Wike has stated that he does not resort to violence to show his grievances in politics as he is a firm believer in the rule of law.

Wike, while speaking at the inauguration of the 17.2 kilometre-long Bori-Kono Road at Methodist Comprehensive High School Premises in Baen community of Khana Local Government Area on Friday said that he has not resorted to political violence even in the face of political provocation, unfounded allegations and outright disregard to statutory laws.

He opined that his government has gone above and beyond for Rivers people in terms of project delivery, ensuring security and promoting good governance.

Wike stated that due to his political goodwill towards Rivers, the electorates are willing to listen to his counsel on who to make the next governor of the state.

He explained he does not need to resort to political violence against anybody.

Wike alleged that certain individuals have deliberately instigated violence in the state by violating a state law that prohibits the location of political offices in residential areas of the state.

He went on to state that nobody was harassing anybody and preventing them from their political campaigns, but such must be done in line with the statutory laws of the state.

Naija News recalls that Wike had yesterday shut down the campaign office of Atiku Abubakar which according to him violated a state law prohibiting the location of political offices in residential areas of the state.
