Peter Obi Visits Obong Of Calabar, Ekpo Abasi-Otu [Photos]

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has paid a courtesy call on the Obong of Calabar, His Eminence Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V.

Naija News reports that the former Governor of Anambra State alongside his wife visited the First class traditional ruler at his official residence in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

It was gathered that Obi and his wife met with the monarch before attending the party’s campaign rally held at the UJ Esuene Stadium.

The LP flagbearer called on the people of the state and Nigerians in general not to vote for a presidential candidate they cannot trust to turn around the nation.

Obi said that he would not only secure and unite the country but ensure that there would be law and order if elected as President in 2023.

He said his government would ensure that universities in the country functioned effectively, devoid of incessant strikes.

Speaking on his plan for the development of Cross River, Obi promised to boost the tourism potential of the state because it is the tourism capital of the country.

He said: “The state has cocoa, we will develop it and ensure we export it. We will also boost the tourism potential of the state because it is the tourism capital of Nigeria.

“We want to make Nigeria work. You can trust us. Don’t vote for people you cannot trust to turn around the nation.”
