The Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), James Faleke has denied knowledge of an empowerment fund said to be provided by the BolaTinubu campaign organisation.

Naija News gathered that Faleke raised an alarm that his official Facebook account was hacked to perpetuate the criminal act of requesting monies from unsuspecting Nigerians to access the so-called fund.

According to him, the hacker of his Facebook who has been identified as Lukman Johnny who works with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in Abuja, was responsible for defrauding innocent Nigerians.

Faleke, who issued a ‘Disclaimer’ contained in a statement, denied the act by the perpetrators of the crime, saying unscrupulous elements hacked his Facebook account to extort unsuspecting Nigerians.

The hackers, he said, are asking unsuspecting Nigerians to pay the sum of N18, 000 in order to access an empowerment fund from the Bola Tinubu campaign organisation.

Naija News learnt that unsuspecting Nigerians were requested to pay the sum of N18,500 into a designated account provided by the hackers to gain access to the fund.

He said the message sent out reads: “Johnny on 08147136835 tell him I directed you, he is the director in charge of the empowerment fund in the federal ministry of agriculture here in Abuja, he will guide you on what to do’.”

However, Tinubu’s campaign secretary asked Nigerians to disregard the message and report the activities of the hackers to security agents.

Faleke maintained that “I have been inundated with reports from several Nigerians about the activities of some unscrupulous elements who hacked my official Facebook account, to extort unsuspecting Nigerians.

“One of the individuals behind this fraud is also sending messages to unsuspecting victims using the name of a certain Lukman Johnny with phone number 08147136835, and who is said to be a staff of the federal ministry of agriculture in Abuja.

“I wish to put on record that I am not aware of any empowerment fund being allocated or distributed to any individual or group of persons by Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, or by myself.”
