Funke Akindele Breaks Silence On Marriage Crash With JJC Skillz

Nollywood actress cum Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State, Funke Akindele, has broken silence on the crash of her marriage with her husband, JJC Skillz.

Naija News recalls that JJC Skillz in June 2022 took to his Instagram page to announce his separation from Funke.

According to JJC Skillz, the last two years of their marriage had been difficult and he tried his best to make things work.

He also revealed that Funke asked him to leave their matrimonial home and the announcement was necessary to clear the air and make it known to the public that they have decided to go their separate ways.

In an interview with Legit, Funke Akindele revealed that their dreams and vision of what marriage should be stopped aligning.

She noted that all efforts to make things work and restore the relationship failed.

She said: “Well, the truth is our dreams and vision of what our marriage should be just no longer aligned. And efforts to make it work all fell on deaf ears, so why hang around.”

On the new journey in politics, Funke said her future including that of her children is at stake if they continue to live with the current situation in Lagos.

In her words: “As a young person in Lagos, I’m bothered because my future is at stake, and the future of my boys is at stake if we continue to live like this in Lagos. No matter your tribe, as long as you live in Lagos, and you’re tired of the standard of living, the present situation of things, and there is a feeling that it is time for a change, well now you have it. That is the succour my principal and I intend to provide.”
