Nollywood Actors Are Paid In 'Tokens' – Deyemi Okanlawon

Nollywood actor, Deyemi Okanlawo, has opined that some of his colleagues in the entertainment industry are broke.

Naija News reports that the actor made this known while responding to a fan who assumed that fame brings money.

Deyemi in a post shared on the microblogging platform, Twitter said it is more important to aim towards the highest earning and not highest grossing movies or highest featured.

Reacting to this, a fan said he had thought that fame brings money.

However, Deyemi pointed out that there are many famous broke people as fame is just a byproduct.

According to him, it is talent, work strategy, and ethics that bring the money.

Tallbertiie asked: “I thought the fame brings the bag??”

He replied: “There are lot of famous broke people.. fame is a byproduct, it’s the talent and the grind (work strategy and work ethic) that brings the bag”

Colleagues Pay Last Tribute To Sammie Okposo

Meanwhile, a Praise Party Industry Tribute Night was held on Tuesday in honor of late gospel artist, Sammie Okposo at La Madison Place, Oniru, Lagos state.

The party was part of the event planned to bid a final farewell to the ‘Welu Welu’ singer who died on November 25.

The singer’s wife, Ozioma broke down in tears when a video collection of late Sammie’s beautiful and funny moments was played before the audience.

Gospel artists who have been impacted by the last singer were also allotted time to pay their tributes.

Pastor John Hannah from Chicago, United States, saluted Sammie, saying, “To Ozioma, death is not always easy.

To the family, be encouraged. I will miss him.” Kevin Bond, a producer based in the US said in a live video that it was through Sammie that he first touched down in Nigeria. “My family here knows his music. Listen, we lost a great one,” he said.
