Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Wednesday boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state is coasting to victory in the 2023 general elections.

The governor made the bold declaration yesterday as he flagged off the party’s campaign, adding that the APC will sweep all the elective positions it is fielding candidates in.

Naija News understands that the electioneering event was kicked off in the Gaya Local Government Area of the state yesterday, where the party’s flag was handed to the party’s House Representative candidate for Gaya/Ajingi/Albany federal constituency, Mahmud Gaya.

In his address at the event venue, Governor Ganduje said all the party candidates were the most qualified, while challenging the opposition parties to present the resume of their candidates to see if they can stand those of the APC.

“Our gubernatorial candidate Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has a political history similar to mine. He was the local government chairman of the most populous local government in Nigeria, Nassarawa Local Government, and he was commissioner of agriculture, among other things.

“His running mate Murtala Sule Garo was a local government chairman, the state chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), and he was commissioner for local governments and chieftaincy Affairs,” Ganduje noted.

On his part, the party’s chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, said the gubernatorial candidate has promised to expand the road leading to Gaya and make it develop like Kano City.
