Ronaldo claims that the United youngsters lack enthusiasm, burning more bridges.

A Manchester United star has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial interview has affected the team.

Raphael Varane, the first player on Erik ten Hag’s side to openly react on Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan, has acknowledged that Ronaldo’s remarks “clearly influence” his Manchester United teammates.

The famous Portuguese player said that he felt “betrayed” by United and that he “doesn’t respect” manager Erik ten Hag because he thinks the Dutchman “doesn’t respect him.”

Varane was asked for his opinion on Ronaldo’s comments because of their long-standing friendship that dates back to their time as teammates at Real Madrid.

While speaking to the French outlet, Europe 1, he said, “Obviously it affects us. We follow what is happening and what is being said.

“We try to calm the situation in our own way, we try not to get too involved in it.”

The French international said that he would support any choice the club makes on the subject and hoped to be healthy in time for France’s World Cup opening against Australia on next Wednesday.

“When it’s a star like Cristiano Ronaldo, even more, so we try to take it with distance, that is to say that we do not try to change the situation alone, we are part of a collective.” he said.

“What I want is the best for my team so whatever the decision, as a player, we will accept it and give the best of ourselves.” he added.
