PDP Ex-Spokesman, Dukku Joins NNPP In Gombe

The leadership of the Zamfara State chapter of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has collapsed all existing structures of the party to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Naija News reports that almost all executive members of the NNPP in Zamfara, like the state chairman, and national secretary among others have joined the state Governor Bello Matawalle, in the state.

The NNPP’s Organising Secretary in the state, Babangida Haruna Damba, who made this disclosure said members have decided to collapse the NNPP to join Matawalle’s APC because the NNPP lacks internal democracy and focus, which are strong indications that the party may not do well in all contestable positions at the state and national levels in the coming 2023 general elections.

Dampa, who led the NNPP’s state executive members on behalf of its Chairman, Muhammad Sani Anka decamped with 10 local government party chairmen and all their supporters to APC.

Declaring their resolve to join the Zamfara state APC, Damba described the NNPP dead on arrival at its formative stage in the state, adding that the party has since inception been saddled with crisis because it is being run by only one unpopular person.

The former NNPP Zamfara state secretary observed that the NNPP presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso is the only one in the race as a spoiler who is ready to bury the party at the end of the elections.

Naija News however gathered that the state governor Matawalle commended the former NNPP saying the decision to join the APC was a wise one.

The governor, who welcomed the defectors at the Government House in the state maintained that for many reasons such as fairness to all members, inclusiveness, love for peace, and provision of dividends of democracy, the APC would continue to receive more defectors and supporters in the state.
