Napoli Salutes Victor Osimhen’s New Record

Italian giants, Napoli has hailed Victor Osimhen’s new record as the highest Nigerian goal scorer in Serie A.

Naija News previously reported that the Super Eagles forward has ticked a lot of boxes for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Naija News learnt that the Nigerian has drawn interest from Premier League powerhouses after displaying an impressive performance for his Italian side since his injury return.

However, Spalletti on many occasion has noted that the Super Eagles talisman is a key player in his team and it would take him a deep thought to consider him for a transfer.

In another report, the Nigerian has been placed on an £88 million price tag, should there be a thought for a transfer.

The 23-year-old who is listed among the top scorers of the Italian top-flight division now holds the record of 32 goals which knocks Simy Nwankwo’s previous mark of 31 goals after scoring against Atalanta.

However, the likes of Obinna Nsofor, Obafemi Martins played in the same domestic league but Osimhen has proved himself to be exceptional, having broken Nwankwo’s record.

The Parthenopeans on their social media platform, wrote, “@victorosimhen9’s goal against Atalanta at the weekend saw him become the top-scoring Nigerian in @SerieA_EN of all time! ForzaNapoliSempre, ”

If Osimhen scores again against Empoli today, he would tie Arkadiusz Milik’s record for most goals in a single season in Serie A.
