Uzodinma Caused The Death Of My Uncle, Others - Ugochinyere

The spokesperson of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), Ikenga Ugochinyere has warned the factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu against sacrificing his political career for something he knows little about.

Speaking against the recent statement by Adebutu on the crisis rocking the PDP, Ugochinyere in a statement on Sunday cautioned that the factional PDP candidate is openly displaying ignorance.

Naija News recalls Adebutu, had called on the five aggrieved PDP Governors who are against the national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, to resign from the party.

The aggrieved Governors, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Rivers, Oyo, Benue, Abia, and Enugu States respectively had pulled out of the PDP presidential campaign and insisted on the removal or resignation of the party’s national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, and his replacement with a southerner before campaigning for Atiku.

According to them, Ayu had promised that he would resign his position if a northerner emerged as the presidential candidate of the PDP.

However, giving his opinion on the matter, while speaking to non-indigene residents in Ogun at a gathering in Abeokuta, Adebutu said those unwilling to abide by the decision of a party are free to leave or form their own party.

But the CUPP spokesperson has now cautioned him against sinking with Ayu but rather focus on his shaking governorship ambition and how to revive it.

Ugochinyere, who is also the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ideato Federal Constituency in Imo State, warned that Adebutu can’t get the vote or confidence of the people by abusing others ahead of him.

He said: “It is funny how political neophytes are quick in jumping into the fray to make comments on issues they know little or nothing about.

“The display of crass ignorance was what played out with the statement credited to Adebutu on the leadership crisis rocking the PDP.

“With his shaky governorship ambition in Ogun State, does Adebutu think licking Ayu’s boots is what will save him?

“I urge Adebutu to face his governorship campaigns and avoid sinking politically with Ayu. No party man who wishes that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar wins the next presidential election will encourage Ayu to hang on to power. So, with his outburst, Adebutu has revealed himself as Atiku’s enemy.

“Supporting a sinking party chairman openly, like Adebutu did, only portrayed him as a political gambler. This, clearly, is not good for his political ambition.”

Ugochinyere added that it is absolutely wrong for Adebutu to meddle in the leadership crisis and the demand for Ayu’s removal.

“I make bold to say that Adebutu does not have the capacity to meddle in Ayu-must-go battle. Let me also warn him that my name and those of Wike, Ortom, and others should not come out of his mouth again.

“Since you have decided to play lotto with your governorship ambition by attacking those opposed to Ayu, do not drag us into such,” he stated.
