American female rapper, Nicki Minaj has extended her condolences to Nigerian singer, Davido and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, following the death of their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi.

The rapper took to her Instagram on Thursday night to share a photo of Ifeanyi with the caption: “My deepest condolences to Chioma & @davido during this time.”

Nicki Minaj’s condolence message comes just days after the little child died after drowning in a private swimming pool at the family’s residence in Lagos, according to a family source.

“The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital,” a family source said.

Ifeanyi had only just turned three and had been left in the care of his caregivers while his parents were on a trip out of town.

Confirming his death, the Lagos State Police Command said that  eight people had been brought in for questioning.

Lagos Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin also disclosed that anyone found culpable of the child’s death after a thorough investigation would be prosecuted.

“It is true, the child is dead. About eight people were brought in for questioning and we are investigating the matter. Anyone found culpable in the death of the child would be arrested,” Hundeyin said.

The chef and cook have been detained in connection with his death and may remain in police custody until they are cleared by an autopsy report.
