UEL: Xavi Reacts To 'Difficult Opponent' After Europa League Draw

The reasons behind Barcelona’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in Sunday’s LaLiga El Clasico have been revealed by manager Xavi Hernandez.

The Spaniard revealed that his team was outplayed by the Los Blancos, accepting that the Catalan giants clashed with a more experienced opponent who knew how to make use of clear chances.

Rodrygo, Federico Valverde, and Karim Benzema scored for Real Madrid in their victory over the Blaugrana at the Santiago Bernabeu.

On the other hand, Ferran Torres pulled one back in the 83rd minute but was not enough for Xavi’s men.

The Spanish Manager, while speaking at the match, said, “We didn’t deserve to lose.

“In the first half we weren’t bad, but in the second half they dominated us. With the changes, we were more aggressive. We have to change the mentality and the dynamic because in order to compete in these matches, you’ve to be more aggressive.”

“We have to compete better. We were against a more mature team that knew how to take advantage of our moments. We’re in a bad dynamic and we’ve to change it.”

With 25 points, Carlo Ancelotti’s team moved to the top of the La Liga standings after ending Barcelona’s unbeaten streak.
