A former Governor of Zamfara State, Sani Yarima of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday visited the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

The development was disclosed by former National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan in a post on his Twitter account.

Yarima was accompanied to meet with the former vice president in the Federal Capital Territory alongside former deputy governor of Zamfara State, Muktar Anka.

Ambassador Abubakar Bunu was among the delegates that visited Atiku ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Yarima’s visit is coming a few days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) raised the embargo on the 2023 presidential campaign.

The former governor of Zamfara State is meeting with Atiku despite their party differences.

Ologbondiyan, however, did not disclosed the details of their meeting on Thursday, but the meeting might be related to the 2023 presidential ambition of Atiku with campaign already in place.

Atiku is hoping to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC at the end of his tenure in 2023.

The PDP, which lost power to APC in 2015 after former president Goodluck Jonathan was defeated by Buhari, have been working to regain power from the ruling party.
