‘Tinubu Holds No Grudges With Anyone’ – Tinubu’s Camp Speaks On Begging Jonathan For Blessings

The camp of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has reacted to the speculations that the former Governor of Lagos State visited ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan to beg for blessings ahead of the 2023 election.

Naija News earlier reported that Tinubu on Tuesday met with Jonathan accompanied by his running mate Kashim Shettima and other APC chieftains.

Although details of their meeting were not made public, a source in Tinubu’s camp who spoke with PUNCH said that the visit was an extension of the APC national leader’s consultation with major stakeholders ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The source noted that Tinubu’s visit should not come to anyone as a surprise because he holds no grudges with anyone whether within the party or in the opposition, adding that Jonathan was excited to see them and was open to consultation on the APC presidential candidate’s ambition.

The source said: “His visit to Jonathan shouldn’t come to anyone as a surprise. Tinubu holds no grudges with any political whether within the party or in the opposition.”

Rift Between Bola Tinubu, Abdullahi Adamu

Meanwhile, the Deputy National Organising Secretary of APC, Nze Chidi Duru, has dismissed reports of a rift between Tinubu and the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Chidi Duru denied any rifts between the duo over the composition of the party’s presidential campaign council.

According to him, Tinubu’s team and the party’s national leadership were working together.

He said: “There’s no power tussle over positions. None of such has happened and the party and the candidate are working together. But it’s important to say that we agreed on DG and spokesman.”
