Wike Told To Dump Atiku, Pledge Allegiance To Tinubu Or Obi

An All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Osita Okechukwu has warned Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike against supporting the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News recalls that the rift between Atiku and Wike began after the PDP presidential primaries in May.

Speaking on the situation via a statement on Friday, Okechukwu said Wike might lose out on Nigeria’s political permutation if he backs Atiku, who “betrayed” the South.

The Voice of Nigeria (VON) Director-General advised him to spend his time abroad “with less distraction.”

More Problems For Ayu As PDP NWC Calls For Probe Of Party’s Finances

Some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are pushing for a probe of the party’s finances.

Naija News gathered that some PDP NWC members are angry that the National Chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, has failed to give an account of some funds that accrued to the party.

A source told TheCable that the PDP leaders have demanded an audit for about N1 billion that the party got from friends of the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar.

The source added the PDP NWC members want Ayu to account for the funds that accrued to the party through the sale of forms and donations.

Shettima Reveals Why He Wore Gym Shoes To NBA Conference

The Vice Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Kashim Shettima has disclosed the reason he wore the outfit he wore to the Nigerian Bar Association conference in Lagos on Monday, August 22.

Naija News understands that the outfit worn by the APC, vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima to the Nigerian Bar Association conference triggered a lot of reactions on social media.

Critics in mockery of the APC chieftain outfit, created a trend called #ShettimaChallenge with images of several of them, donning various sizes of suits with a red tie, and pairs of gym shoes across Nigerian Twitter.

However, speaking about the outfit on Thursday, the former Borno governor said he had received word that there was a gang up against him, so he decided to throw them off with his outfit.

He noted that the outfit was deliberately worn to throw peo­ple off during the event.

‘We Understand Your Frustration To Perform The Impossible’ – Peter Obi’s Camp Fires Omokri

A support group of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has slammed political activist, Reno Omokri.

Naija News reports that this is coming a few days after Omokri claimed that the former Anambra State Governor was being used.

According to him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer, Bola Tinubu is the biggest beneficiary of Obi’s candidature because the latter would receive the votes that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would have gained.

He said: “Peter won’t affect APC’s votes. The votes he will likely get are votes that would have naturally gone to PDP”

Responding, Obi-Datti movement in a statement on Thursday noted that it was laughable that Omokri asserted that the APC leader was using Obi to undermine Atiku.

Obi’s camp said it understands the challenge of the former presidential aide trying to market a bad product, especially one that has been dumped over and over again by monumental political fakes.

A former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has blasted the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his attitude towards the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that Shittu is the Director General of the Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance.

In an interview with The Punch on Thursday, Shittu said the former minister had shown resentment and has been unbothered towards Tinubu’s presidential aspiration.

Amidst the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a political commentator, Ahmed Bakare has opined that Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi may capitalise on the lapses of the two major opposition parties to get landslide victory.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has revealed why the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, is allegedly unsettling the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Eze alleged that Governor Wike’s plan is towards negotiating for the presidential ticket of the PDP in 2027.

The APC chieftain advised PDP against accepting the terms and conditions laid down by the Rivers State Governor.

A former chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State, Chris Eluemuno has expressed optimism that the processes put in place by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will make it difficult to rig the 2023 election.

The National Chairman, South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023 (SWAGA), Dayo Adeyeye, has said there is no division in Afenifere over the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Speaking at a programme on Thursday, he stated that the group’s leader is Pa Reuben Fasoranti, while Pa Ayo Adebanjo only leads the group in an acting capacity.

According to him, any statement from Adebanjo is personal and not the group’s official position.

He claimed that ninety-nine percent of Afenifere members are backing the presidential ambition of Tinubu.
