EFCC Arrests 21 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Abuja, Benin
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has in its bid to curtail criminality in the country, arrested no fewer than 10 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja.
Naija News reports that the anti-graft agency confirmed the arrest of the individuals on Friday (today) via its official microblogging page, Twitter.
The crime monitoring agency said the youths were apprehended on Thursday by operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of EFCC.
It said the officials were on a sting operation at various locations in Kubwa and Gwarimpa areas of Abuja when they nabbed the fellows over involvement in cyber-fraud.
EFCC listed items it recovered from the suspects to include mobile phones, laptop computers and three luxury cars- a Mercedes Benz CLA 250, Mercedes Benz GLK 350 and Toyota Venza.
The suspects according to the agency, will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded.
11 Suspected Internet Fraudsters Arrested In Benin
In a similar development, the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC said it arrested 11 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo State.
The agency said the suspects; Kelvin Azuibike, Andrew Otuokparwo, Miracle Eloze, Junior Oseyi, Okoye Godfrey, Oseiwa Oifoghe and Odia Sylvester. Others are Ekhazor Evans, Collins Akpotu, Victor Okoh and Francis Agathor were nabbed on Thursday, August 25, 2022, during a raid in their hideout following intelligence on their alleged internet fraud-related activities.
Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include mobile phones and laptops, Naija News understands.
