Tafa Balogun Did His Best To Ensure Police Performed Well During His Tenure - Buhari

The former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tafa Balogun, was on Saturday, laid to rest in his home town.

Naija News reports that the former IGP died on Thursday, 4th August, exactly four days to mark his 75th birthday.

Balogun was buried according to Islamic rites in the Ila-Orangun, Ila Local Government area of Osun State.

The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman was represented by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode.

Also, the Representatives of Osun state governments were among the sympathizer.

Buhari Mourns Tafa Balogun

President Muhammadu Buhari, while reacting to Balogun’s death, said the former Inspector-General of Police will be remembered for his penchant for boosting the morale of officers and men in the Force.

The Nigerian leader stated this in a statement on Friday by his spokesman, Femi Adesina.

Buhari stated that Balogun did his utmost best to ensure that the police performed its statutory responsibilities under a democratic dispensation while he was in office.

He, however, expressed condolences to the Nigeria Police Force as well as family, friends and associates of the former Police IG over his death.
