The Presidency has refused to react to the attack on soldiers of the Guards Brigade, who have the mandate to protect President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News had reported that bandit terrorists ambushed the soldiers of the 7 Guards Battalion who were on routine patrol along Kubwa – Bwari road in Abuja on Sunday.

The terrorists were said to be headed to the Nigerian Law School in Bwari when they ran into the troops, leading to the exchange of gunfire in which three soldiers were injured.

According to one of the military sources quoted by The Nation, the three soldiers who were injured during the attack were evacuated to the hospital for treatment.

Confirming the attack when contacted, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Guards Brigade, Captain Godfrey Abakpa, said the terrorists were successfully repelled.

Abakpa added that some of the soldiers were wounded in action and taken to the hospital and are receiving treatments.

He urged members of the public to continue with their lawful activities as troops have been deployed to the general area to ensure security.

However, as of the time of filing this report, President Buhari or any of his spokesmen have not reacted to the attack on the presidential guards and the worsening insecurity in Abuja.

Terrorists Threaten To Abduct And Kill Buhari, El-Rufai

Bandit terrorists went nuclear over the weekend when they threatened to kidnap and kill President Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

In a new video seen by Naija News, the terrorists also threatened to kill the remaining passengers in their custody and sell out the others.

In the video, a terrorist could be heard threatening to turn the area into an abattoir unless the Muhammadu Buhari-led government complied with their demands.

It is understood that the terrorists were responsible for the abduction of over 60 passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna bound train on March 28, 2022.

This is coming a few weeks after the convoy of an advance team of the President was attacked on its way to Buhari’s hometown of Daura, Katsina, ahead of Sallah.
