Missing Fountain University Female Student Found
Student Who Was Reportedly Missing and Found -Hadiza Salami

A female student of Fountain University, Osogbo who was earlier reported on many digital platforms as missing has been found, Naija News learnt.

The young lady identified as Hadiza Salami was said to have departed Abuja last Friday, July 22, 2022, to meet up with school resumption.

The driver of the vehicle that took her from Abuja to Osun State was said to have informed her mother that she arrived in Osogbo safely. The girl who is said to be in her 400-level was, however, declared missing moments after her arrival in Osogbo.

The management of the private university, however, in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, in Osogbo, gave an update on Miss Salami’s situation.

The statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Taoheed Alimi, revealed that the young lady was found unhurt.

Alimi added that the missing student was now receiving the necessary care and attention in order for her to resume her regular academic activities.

The statement read: “On behalf of the management of Fountain University, Osogbo, I write to inform the general public that one of our students, Hadiza Salami who was recently declared missing has been found.

“Miss Salami was found unhurt, thanks to the effort of the security operatives and of course, the wide range of support received from the general public.

“While she is currently receiving all the necessary care and attention at relevant quarters for her to resume her regular activity, we want to thank the general public for the solidarity given to us.

“The management of the University, therefore, urges all to please stop any form of publicity indicating that she is still missing.”

The statement had the school management and the parents of Miss Salami saying thank you to the Nigeria Police force and other security operatives, the press, as well as the general public for the show of solidarity in the search for their daughter.

Naija News understand that the driver who drove Salami from Abuja to Osogbo on Friday reported at the Dugbe Police Station when he learned that she could not be traced despite dropping her at the location.

Also confirming the situation, the Osun State Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola told reporters that Salami’s number was tracked leading to her recovery.
