The National Vice President, National Association of Yam Farmers, Processors and Marketers of Nigeria (NAYFPM), Northeast chapter, Hon Jerry Tyolanga on Thursday decried that the Christian support for the Labour party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi is a mistake against the people’s Democratic party PDP and her presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to stop the APC from achieving her Muslim-Muslim ticket agenda.

Hon. Tyolanga who stated this while interacting with newsmen in Jalingo decried that some Christian stands for Mr Peter Obi may jeopardise the Christian fight against the Muslim-Muslim ticket for the presidential seat.

He alleged with fear that, Christians in the South-West may resolve to vote for the APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu as against the CAN position for the election due to ethnicity, which according to him may lead to Tinubu’s emergence if Christians in other parts of the country like the South-South and the North-Central prefer Mr Obi over Atiku who stand a better chance to stop the APC from the idea he believed was capable of bringing disunity among religious groups and dividing the country.

“I want to let all Christians who are against the APC Muslim- Muslim ticket and are supporting Mr Peter Obi know that their support for the Labour party’s presidential candidate is a mistake against the actualization for Christian kick against the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.

“I am not against the candidature of Mr Peter Obi, he is one of Nigeria’s finest leaders who have a good track record of legacy and can take Nigeria to a higher level of development but, the fear of what the APC has portrayed to the country is a major concern.

“They have portrayed danger to the nation’s democracy and unity of the country. “I am not challenging the population of the South-South who are 99.9 per cent Christian, but if Christian in the South West decides to vote based on ethnicity and those in the North-Central and South-South split their votes for Obi and Okowa, while the North-West and the North-East split for Atiku and Shettima, the Christian would lose in their agitation to stop the Muslim dominance in a leadership position in Nigeria.

“I want all Christians including Mr Peter Obi to support Atiku to save Christianity from being buried by the APC and her presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.

“The Christian position for Obi is a mistake against actualizing the stoppage of APC plans against Christian in Nigeria” Tyolanga decried.

The yam farmer’s leader also expressed worry over the continuous insecurity in the country, as it was degrading Nigeria from her economic giant reputation.

He lamented the attack on president Buhari’s convoy, as it was an international insult to Nigerians and appealed to Christian and other Nigerians to support Atiku for the presidency and end the abnormals for Nigeria.
