Omokri Reacts As Tinubu Succeeds Buhari As Nigeria's President

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has mocked the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, over the defeat of Governor Gboyea Oyetola in the Osun governorship election.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning declared Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the governorship election after defeating Oyetola, the APC governorship candidate.

In a post on his Twitter page on Sunday, Omokri mocked Tinubu over the claim he made during the APC mega rally in Ekiti State last month that he has never lost an election.

The former presidential aide said the APC Presidential candidate cannot make the claim anymore following the defeat of his cousin, who is the incumbent governor.

Omokri stated that it is much worse for Tinubu, being that Osun state is allegedly his home state.

He wrote: “Tinubu’s greatest boast has consistently been: ‘I have never lost an election.’ After yesterday, he can’t make that claim. And it is much worse for Tinubu, being that the state he lost is his **** state. The domino effect has started and won’t stop!”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum has hailed the victory of the party’s candidate in the Osun governorship election, Senator Adeleke.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, the Forum said Adeleke won the election because the people trusted him.

The forum added that the party’s candidate won the exercise because of his love and concern for the wellbeing of his people, adding that the victory was the wish of the electorate in the state.

It asserted that Osun state had been liberated and it’s now time for Nigeria to be rescued through the instrumentality of the PDP.
