BREAKING: Tinubu, Shettima Arrive Eagle Square For Inauguration

A former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, has expressed full support for the choice of Kashim Shettima as the running mate to the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The APC and Tinubu have come under heavy criticism from groups and individuals such as the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, over the choice of Shettima as the vice presidential candidate of the ruling party.

In a chat with The PUNCH on Wednesday, Shittu expressed worry that the APC would have problems if Tinubu caved into the pressure to drop the former Governor of Borno State as his running mate.

The Director-General, Asiwaju Tinubu Support Group added that it took Tinubu, the Northern governors and the party some time to choose Shettima as the vice presidential candidate.

“The truth is that if Shettima is dropped as a result of this pressure from within and outside the party, APC will be in trouble. What we need to factor in here is the time it took Tinubu, the Northern governors and the party to decide on his candidacy,” he said.

Meanwhile, some APC Christian leaders in the North on Wednesday night held a meeting in the home of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir David Lawal.

Naija News reports that this was made known in a post on Twitter by a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

In a post on Twitter, Fani-Kayode disclosed that the caucus deliberated on matters touching and concerning Nigeria.
