The North Doesn't Trust You, You Can't Get Buhari's Votes - Okechukwu Knocks Atiku

The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu has described the decision of the All Progressives  Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu to pick Kashim Shettima as his running mate.

Okechukwu in his reaction via a personally signed statement on Sunday described the move as an excellent choice.

He submitted that both men have records of excellent performances during their days as Governors and believes they can replicate such as leaders of Nigeria.

“On the choice of Distinguished Sen. Kashim Shettima as Vice Presidential Candidate, I think it is an excellent joint ticket.

“An excellent joint ticket because Shettima is a transparent man of action and capable as Asiwaju pointed out,” Okechukwu submitted.

On the issue of a Muslim-Muslim ticket, the VON DG said the good part is both Tinubu and Shettima are moderate Muslims, so there should be no unnecessary fear or agitation, though he would also have preferred a Muslim-Christian ticket.

He said; “On the issue of Muslim-Muslim ticket, as a Christian one would have preferred Muslim-Christian ticket; however, there was the likely input of Northern Governors who are staunch supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The good news is that both are moderate Muslims, not ultra Muslims.”

Naija News recalls Tinubu on Sunday after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, unveiled former Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
