A video of three siblings who were rendered orphans after unknown gunmen shot and killed their mother and several worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State has surfaced on social media.

Naija News reports that unknown gunmen invaded the catholic church, throwing explosives and shooting many worshippers on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

According to reports, no fewer than 50 worshippers were either shot dead or murdered by the explosives.

In the video that surfaced, three helpless children were seen in tears narrating their ordeal since their mother died, who was amongst the worshippers killed by gunmen in the deadly attack on Owo Catholic church.

They said their mother was the one taking care of them since their father died in December, 12th 2016.

They added that they have been stranded since the incident as their mother who was their caretaker died in the deadly attack.

Meanwhile, a mass funeral service for worshippers killed by gunmen at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State  held on the 17th of June.

Some clergymen, including Bishop Jude Arogundade of Ondo Catholic Diocese and Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, were in attendance.
