Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has explained to his critics why he chose to support former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar for the 2023 presidency over former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi.

Naija News understands that Omokri hails from Warri in Delta State and many of his followers have wondered why he refused to drum support for Obi who also hails from the Southern region of Nigeria.

Omokri had though some time ago praised Obi for his prudence in handling public offices, he has, however, channelled even more energy to the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku.

Taken to his verified account on the microblogging platform, Twitter, Omokri said that Peter Obi is competent but not good enough to be president of Nigeria.

He stressed that he will choose Atiku two times over Obi.

Omokri’s tweet reads: “Peter is competent enough to be President. My only issue with Peter Obi is that I prefer Atiku to him.

“If this election was like a JAMB form, where you pick your first, second and third choices. Atiku would be my first and second choices. Peter would be my third!”.

Meanwhile, a former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye has said the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu is a baby weight compared to the candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

He further stated that Tinubu is lesser than the former Vice President in all ramifications, politically, medically, mentally, socially even religiously.

Melaye stated this while speaking during an interview on Channels TV on Monday, Naija News reports.

According to the former lawmaker, in terms of political experience, you can not compare Tinubu with Atiku.

He added that you have to be mentally and physically fit to rule Nigeria.
