UK Govt Lists Three Things Next Nigerian President Must Do

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has condemned the killings of worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.

Naija News earlier reported that unknown gunmen on Sunday attacked the catholic church and killed many worshippers just as the service was nearing its conclusion.

It was gathered that the gunmen detonated explosives before firing at the worshippers including women and children.

Reacting to the Owo Church attack on her Twitter handle on Sunday evening, Laing condemned the perpetrators behind the dastardly act.

The British official also extended her sympathies to the victims of the horrific incident and the people of Owo and Ondo State.

She wrote: “Terrible news today from Owo in Ondo state. I condemn those responsible for this horrific crime. I extend my sympathies to all those affected.”

Meanwhile, a frontline presidential aspirant and former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu said the attack on worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State is highly reprehensible.

The presidential hopeful stated that the violent attack on Sunday morning shocked the conscience of the nation and shattered the peace of the ancient town of Owo.

Tinubu said in a statement by his media office in Abuja while reacting to the attack on the Catholic Churchin Owa-luwa Street in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

He, however, stated that the attackers cannot break the country’s collective spirit and Nigerians’ will to live in peace and with compassion for all regardless of faith.
