Nigerians have reacted to the meeting between former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News earlier reported that Ekweremadu met with the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State.

Naija News reports that the meeting between the trio was held on Monday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

It was gathered that the meeting between the trio may be connected to the alleged plan by Ekweremadu to defect to the APC and contest the Enugu governorship race under the party.

Ekweremadu, who had withdrawn from the governorship race on the platform of the PDP, also denied joining the Labour Party.

Reacting to the development, some Nigerians took to social media to slam the former Deputy Senate President for being selfish and not obeying the party’s rule.

While others and some of his supporters commended the lawmaker for reportedly planning to join the APC to fulfil his governorship ambition.

“Enugu has the second-highest poverty rate in Southern Nigeria, second to Ebonyi. At least Umahi invested in infrastructure.”
