A video of  Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta house of assembly, who won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in the state, kneeling to thank Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta Governor at a thanksgiving service has caused a stir on social media.

Naija News understands that Oborevwori polled 590 votes to beat his closest rival, David Edevbie, commissioner for finance during the James Ibori administration, who polled 113 votes.

PDP returning officer, Ndubisi Nwobu announced the results on Wednesday, where he noted that a total of 824 delegates were accredited for the primary.

Shortly after the result was announced, Okowa and Oborevwori attended a thanksgiving service together held at the government house chapel in Asaba, the Delta capital.

However, what struck most Nigerians was the moment when Oborevwori went down on his knee to thank Okowa for his win.
