2023: Badaru Speaks On Withdrawing From Presidential Race
Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has asserted that no government in the history of Nigeria can equate the achievement of the incumbent administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The politician hailed the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, saying the party has not received the applause it deserves despite its ‘massive’ accomplishment.

Naija News understands that Badaru mentioned these on Tuesday (today) at the official inauguration of 36 State Chapter Coordinators of the APC Ambassadors for Good Governance held in Abuja.

Represented by the Director-General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, Governor Badaru added that Nigeria has witnessed transformations in the last seven years under President Buhari.

He said: “The Buhari’s administration followed steps to improve the standards of Nigeria’s agricultural exports to align with global standards due to the rejection of our produce at the EU Border Controls.

“The Anchor Borrowers Programme (ABP) of the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Buhari-led administration has made available billions of naira to farmers of rice, wheat, maize, cotton, cassava, poultry, soybeans and groundnut

“President Buhari-led administration has also set up the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI) to deliver commercially significant quantities of affordable and high-quality fertilizer to the Nigerian farmers at the right time,” Badaru noted.

The governor recalled that before APC came to power in 2015, Nigeria’s economy was oil-dependent but today oil contributes less than 8% of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Governor Badaru, however, urged the APC Ambassadors for Good Governance to engage grassroots to promulgate the achievements of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) across the 774 Local Governments in the country as the 2023 general election is fast approaching.
