Nine suspected kidnappers have met their waterloo in Ekiti State after confrontation with operatives of the state police command, Naija News reports.

The force confirmed to newsmen on Monday that the criminals were nabbed on Friday, April 29, 2022 in the Ago Aduloju area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Sunday Abutu while addressing a press in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, said the feat was part of the ongoing strategic efforts of the command to rid the state of criminal elements.

Narrating how the criminals were arrested, Abutu said the command following an intelligent report had heavily bombarded the vast forest in Ago Aduloju area of Ado-Ekiti, known to be harbouring bandits in the state.

Abutu said the hoodlums had attacked the operatives with dangerous weapons during which one of the operatives sustained serious injuries.

He said: “Following intelligence led surveillance activities, the command operatives on April 29, at about 13:00hrs, bombarded Ago Aduloju Forest, Ado-Ekiti.

“During the operation, 9 suspects, namely- Hassan Mesaje, Dagogo Nadahi, Saidi Laun, Abubakar Usman, Lawal Abdullahi, Usman Ibrahim, Idris Ahmed, Usman Abubakar and Dahiru Adamu were arrested while others took to their heels.”

The Ekiti Commissioner of Police, CP Moronkeji Adesina, assured residents of the state that the force would not relent in its fight against crimes and criminalities.

It also seeks the support and cooperation of all and sundry through the provision of timely and useful information to the police, adding that the suspects arrested would be made to face the wrath of the law,” Abutu added.
