The Osun State Police Command has apprehended a hunter for murdering an Imam, Adegun Yusuf in Orile-Owu, Aiyedaade Local Government Area.

The hunter stated that he thought the 78-year-old cleric was an antelope hence the reason for shooting him.

SP Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer who paraded the suspect alongside others on Tuesday said a complaint was received from the son of the deceased in Ogbere Oloba area of Ibadan.

The cleric’s son had revealed that his father, the Imam of Alaguntan, was shot dead by a hunter from the same village.

The spokesperson said the suspect had confessed to the crime.

“He saw an antelope in the bush, which he shot at with his dane gun; he was surprised when he went to pick the antelope and met Baba Imam on the ground.”

The suspect would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man identified as Ajibola Samsudeen has been arraigned for threatening to release his ex-girlfriend s3x tape on social media.

According to Daily Trust the defendant was sued on charges bordering on intimidation and defamation of character.

In the first information report, one Rahman Saadat, a food vendor, explained that the accused who is the ex-boyfriend of her secretary, Fausiya Abdulrasaq, threatened to release her s3x tape. Read more
