Panic As Gunmen Attack Soldiers In Abia

Some Nigerian soldiers were attacked by unknown gunmen in Tonimas junction in Aba, Abia State.

Naija News learned that the gunmen laid an ambush and attacked the soldiers in the early hours of Friday during a routine patrol of the area.

It was said that the gunmen also set the patrol vehicles of the unsuspecting soldiers on fire.

The attackers were said to have caused panic on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway during the attack.

In a related development, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has threatened to publicly make known the identities of those sponsoring terrorism in the Southeast.

Recall that the separatists have repeatedly denied the claims that IPOB and the Eastern Security Network, ESN, are behind the activities of unknown gunmen in the Southern region of Nigeria.

In a publication on Friday, the spokesman of the Biafra agitators, Emma Powerful, insisted that criminality in the Southeast is carried out to implicate IPOB and ESN.

According to him, the atrocities are perpetrated more in areas where politicians are fighting for supremacy.

Powerful charged governors and politicians in the region to join its members in flushing out unknown gunmen from the southeast.

He berated the spate of insecurity and killing of innocent citizens in the Southeast, stressing that the events are unacceptable by IPOB worldwide.
