Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

Unknown gunmen in a reprisal attack have killed one of the workers of the Okomu Oil Palm Company in Edo State Naija News reports

The recent attack on the company, according to the Vanguard, followed a similar attack which resulted in 90 hectares of the company’s rubber plantation and three excavators burnt by the assailants on February 1, 2022.

Trouble started again, after the security operatives arrested two suspects, which angered their  supposed members, leading to a  further attack on innocent workers on the Okomu Oil Palm Company’s property to avenge the arrest of their accomplices.

A source who craved anonymity disclosed that the suspects nabbed confessed to been behind the theft of  rubber captured by the Marine Police on a boat after it had left the Okomu Ijaw Community on its way to Delta State.

The  Company’s spokeman, Fidelis Olise, out rightly condemned the constant killing of innocent workers performing their lawful duties without conflict or instigation.

He pleaded with the government and other authorities concerned to take immediate action against the bandits responsible for the murderous crimes.
