The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, says the Federal Government will take action against identified terrorism financiers soon.

Naija News recall that the Buhari-led government on Thursday disclosed that it had discovered some Nigerians supporting Boko Haram terrorists and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

During a press conference, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the terrorism sponsors were fished out by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).

Mohammed added that the NFIU discovered 424 associates/supporters of the financiers, about 123 companies and 33 bureaux de change linked with terrorism.

Speaking on Monday during an interview on Channels Television, Malami stated that the names of the sponsors of terrorism in the country will be unveiled soon.

Malami called on Nigerians to exercise patience, saying that the citizens will get something tangible regarding the development in a couple of weeks.

The minister added that the prosecution of the identified terrorism sponsors is a work in progress and will be done before the end of the expiration of the Buhari government.

Malami assured Nigerians that the process have been consummated in line with the dictates of the law.

He said: “You will be happy with what we are doing as a government in a couple of weeks. Perhaps these people will be charged and arraigned before the court of law.

“Proof of evidence will have to be developed, and then the prosecution will take place. There is nothing hidden; as far as prosecution is concerned, it is traditionally a public prosecution, nothing will be hidden both in terms of names, associated facts, and circumstances.”
