Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Is Smart, IPOB Disrespected Me During My Tenure - Okorocha Declares
Former Governor of Imo, Sen. Rochas Okorocha

Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has alleged why members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, became a terrorist sect, Naija News reports.

According to the presidential hopeful, the Biafra agitators turned out to be a terrorist group because it was not properly handled by the government.

Okorocha had said that IPOB disrespected him while he was a sitting governor, however, he didn’t see them as terrorists even then.

Okorocha who spoke while addressing State House Correspondents after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said he only sees IPOB members as poorly educated children and not terrorists as portrayed by some persons.

According to Okorocha: “There was no need to have handled the IPOB matter the way it was handled. Today they have turned out to be terrorists.

“But for me, I don’t see them as terrorists. I see them as children who have not been properly educated on the happenings.”

Okorocha recently mentioned that the embattled leader of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu is a smart man who took advantage of the frustration and anger of Igbos against the government to push his agenda for Biafra by convincing them that others hate them.

He added that IPOB is a controversial group and many of those who are part of the group are disgruntled persons looking for relevance and justice.

Okorocha asserted that the agitators have been convinced by their leaders that the rest of the country hates them.

He added that Kanu had gotten them to think as he wanted, taking advantage of their ignorance.
