Confirming the development in a statement on Wednesday, spokesman to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, said the defection of the former Senator is a big boost for the ruling party.

Mohammed added that the defection of the former legislator has created a huge vacuum for the opposition party.

The governor’s spokesman said Hassan promised to work with the APC leadership at the state and the national levels.

Meanwhile, the former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Shuaibu Oyedokun have been appointed to lead a committee to resolve all grievances in the party ahead of the July 16 governorship election in Osun state.

The spokesman of the party, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the end of a joint meeting of its National Working Committee (NWC) and other National Stakeholders of the party.

Ologunagba noted that the committee has been given one week to report back but “if the Osun State people come back and say we are into consensus, so be it”.
