The Ogun State Police Command has arrested some teenage boys in the Oke Aregbe area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital after they were caught burning the head of a girl.

It was gathered that the girl was in a relationship with one of them before she was killed for a money ritual.

The community security guard, Segun Adewusi, in the early hours of Saturday observed that the boys were burning something suspected to be the human head in a local pot on the road.

Adewusi immediately contacted the police at Adatan station, who went to the scene to arrest three of the boys, while one of them fled before police arrived.

A source that spoke with Daily Post on the incident noted that the girl killed by the boys is known as Rofiat and a resident of Idi-Ape.

The victim was the girlfriend of one Soliu who is now in the police net.

It was reported that Soliu lured his girl to his room, where he held her down and asked one of his friends to slaughter her with a knife.

The source said, “The arrested suspects were identified as 17-year-old Wariz Oladeinde from Kugba, 19-year-old Abdulgafar Lukman from Kugba and Mustakeem Balogun from Bode Olude, all in Abeokuta. Soliu was the boyfriend of the girl, he ran away but was later arrested.

“They killed Rofiat, cut her head, packed the headless body in a sack and started burning the head in a pot. They told the police in the presence of a mammoth crowd that they wanted to use it for a money ritual.

“The police have taken the body away to a mortuary.”

Mustakeem Balogun, said, “We wanted to use just her head alone for money ritual. Soliu strangled her and he told me to assist him and we cut off her head.”

The development was confirmed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi.
