Bandits Shoot Dead Newborn In Kaduna, Release Abducted Mother

One person has been killed and fifteen others kidnapped as bandit terrorists invaded Batagari Village in the Maikujeri district of Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

Naija News gathered that the criminals stormed the community on motorcycles at about 10pm on Saturday to inflict pain on the residents of the North Central state.

The gunmen were said to have shot indiscriminately into the air after which they started moving from house to house ransacking the buildings and taking away their valuable properties.

It was learned that it was during the sporadic shooting that one person was killed and some residents kidnapped.

A resident of the community told ThisDay that most of those kidnapped were women after the men had taken to their heels.

Recall that Rafi Local Government and some adjoining communities and neighbouring local governments have been under the siege of gunmen in the last one week.

In other news, the police in Imo State has recovered several Improved Explosive Device (IED), arms, ammunition, and vehicles from a camp of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the state.

A press statement released by the Imo Police Command spokesperson, Michael Abattam, said the police raided a terror camp of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) inside a forest at Onicha in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area.

He disclosed that the police raided the camp on January 18 and killed one member of the group while others scampered into the bush fatally injured with gunshot injuries.
