Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho has joined Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona until the end of the season.
Coutinho reunites with his former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard at Villa Park, and returns to England four years after leaving Anfield for the Nou Camp for a club-record £146m.
Villa were understood to be one of two Premier League sides keen to sign Coutinho, who wanted to return to England and play regular football.
Coutinho, who featured 201 times and scored 54 goals for the Reds, has struggled to hold down a first-team place at the Nou Camp since joining in 2018.
The midfielder was loaned to Bayern Munich for the 2019-20 season, and was part of the squad that lifted the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League trophies in 2020, playing 38 times in all competitions.
