BREAKING: Seven Worshippers Killed As Bandits Attack Kaduna Mosque

Bandit terrorists have killed at least nine worshippers in Ba’are village in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Naija News learned that the terrorists invaded the village in the early hours of Wednesday, shooting sporadically into the air to scare away residents.

A few minutes later, the gunmen were said to have stormed a mosque in the area and shot dead the worshippers who were performing their morning prayers.

The bandits also injured at least ten worshippers, who are currently receiving treatment at the Kontagora General Hospital in Minna.

Confirming the incident to the Nation, Niger State Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, said security personnel have been drafted to the area to secure lives and properties.

He said that security agencies would continue to discharge their responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of Nigerlites and Nigerians while calling for credible intelligence from the public.

In a related development, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted eight residents and killed one person during an invasion of Piri community in the Kwali Area Council of Abuja.

The gunmen were said to have invaded the community on Tuesday night amidst sporadic gunshots and came back on Wednesday evening.

The kidnappers first invaded two houses and whisked away two persons, a resident named Yakubu Saidu told Daily Trust.

He said the kidnappers targetted a car dealer identified as Sadauna but since they could not get him, they went away with two of his brothers, on Tuesday night.

Saidu said the gunmen, who returned on Wednesday to continue their operation, killed a housewife simply identified as Salamatu and kidnapped three residents.

He said the victim was shot dead when she attempted to escape, saying that the late woman has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
