Uzodinma Reshuffles Cabinet, Appoints 17 Commissioners

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has declared that the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu can not control the people of his state.

Uzodinma while re-affirming that he remains in charge of the affairs of Imo said the residents of the state didn’t obey the sit-at-home order issued recently by the group.

The Governor made the observation on Wednesday while answering questions from state house correspondents shortly after his meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.

According to him, the people of Imo State will only respond to government-issued orders, boasting that apart from such orders, no individual or group can force them to stay away from home or shut down their businesses.

“IPOB is not a government in Imo state and cannot order people to sit at home,” he boasted.

He pointed out that his administration has worked hard to return peace to the state.

Meanwhile, Naija News recalls the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had reiterated that it had suspended the sit-at-home order issued in the south-east to protest the continued detention of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement obtained by Naija News from IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group revealed that security agents are plotting to attack residents and blame its members or the Eastern Security Network (ESN) for the attack.

According to the pro-Biafra group, security agents want to disguise as its members or those of the ESN unleash mayhem on innocent citizens today, Monday.

While insisting that the sit-at-home order has been suspended, Powerful called on the international community to be aware of the federal government’s plans.

In another news, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba on Monday told operatives of the Nigeria Police not to hesitate in dealing decisively with members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The Police boss who reiterated that the group, led by Nnamdi Kanu has been proscribed by the federal government told police operatives not to allow them (IPOB) to cause any disturbances in any location or under any guise.
