Biafra: Police Attack Three IPOB/ESN Camps, Kill Members In Imo [Photos]

Operatives of the Nigerian Police on Friday raided camps of suspected members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the militia wing of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) group.

It was gathered that many ESN members were killed in the raid that took place at Atta, Izombe and Ideato North areas of the state.

According to The Nations, the raids which commenced around 4 am was carried out by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS), Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) and other special forces.

Nollywood actor, Emma Ehumadu aka Emma Lambista has declared that those outside Nigeria and clamouring for secession should have a rethink.

This is as he declared that such persons can’t be hiding in the comfort of other countries and expect others in Nigeria to be the ones leading the agitation for secession.

Ehumadu who took to his social media account, called out people like the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and others agitating for a breakaway.

In his warning, the actor said such people should be careful of what they’re asking for and avoid setting the country on the path of war because of their own selfish interests.

Biafra: Yahaya Bello Reveals Best Way To Resolve Agitations

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has revealed that dialogue is the best way to resolve the current challenges facing the country.

Speaking in Umuahia on Friday when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state, Bello noted that Nigeria can never divide and will overcome its “differences and skirmishes”.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammad, Bello was quoted to have commended Ikpeazu for the warm reception he received in Abia when he came to the state for the burial of one of his friends’ mother.

Wrong To Tag IPOB Terrorist Group, S/East Marginalized – Edwin Clark

Elder statesman and Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clerk, has condemned the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) by the federal government.

Addressing stakeholders at the south-south zonal conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, on Friday, the south-south leader wondered why IPOB would be tagged a terrorist group when more dangerous groups in the north have not been tagged as such.

Speaking further, Clark stated that the presence of five states in the south-east is a form of “injustice” when compared to the six states in other geopolitical zones and seven states in the north-west.
