Gombe: Gov Yahaya Appoints New Mai Tangle

Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has approved the appointment of Malam Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba as the new Mai Tangle.

Naija News reports that this was made known on Wednesday by the Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo.

While presenting the appointment letter to the new Mai Tangle, the commissioner said the appointment of Malam Danladi Maiyamba was informed by his personal qualities and suitability.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Chairperson of Billiri Local Government Council, 9 Kingmakers of the Billiri Chiefdom, members of the traditional council and other functionaries.

Presentation of Staff of Office will be done in due course.

Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya has sacked three commissioners, nominated their replacements, and reassigned portfolios to some others.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Gombe on Monday.

According to Njodi, the cabinet reshuffle was in line with the governor’s bid to further consolidate the operations of government.

The three commissioners relieved of their duties are Alhassan Kwami, Information and Culture; Dr Ahmed Gana, Health; and Mela Nunghe, Special Duties.
