Fani-Kayode Reacts As Terrorists Torture Abuja-Kaduna Train Victims

Amidst reports of the possible defection of former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode to the All Progressives Congress (APC), what he said in 2018 about joining the party has resurfaced in the media.

Fani-Kayode who took to his Facebook page to react back then when Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and Senator Iyiola Omisore reportedly got their international passports back from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) for being APC members said he can never join the party under any circumstance.

He said he doesn’t blame the two politicians for pitching their tents with the APC in order to avoid prosecution but noted that for him, he can’t be distracted by such lures.

Specifically, he declared that he prefers to die than join the APC or bow to President Muhammadu Buhari.

In his words: “I am not surprised that my good friend Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and Senator Iyiola Omisore have got their passports back from the EFCC and are now in America.”

“I do not blame them for joining the ruling party to avoid persecution. Some are strong whilst others are weak. I would rather die than join APC or bow to Buhari.”

“We must stay strong and focused and refuse to be distracted. We must enthrone justice, fair play and equal opportunities for every Nigerian regardless of his faith, ethnic nationality or circumstances of birth. Ours is to speak for the weak, the poor, the voiceless and the oppressed.”

Though the fresh rumours about him joining the APC have refused to go away, Fani-Kayode has continued to deny such plans or moves.

Specifically, on Wednesday, he debunked the report that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

This is coming after the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, noted in a viral video that the former minister has dumped PDP for the APC.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Progressives Governors Forum, Salihu Lukman, on Friday, noted that the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode lacks the required values to join the All Progressives Congress.

There had been speculations over the week that the former minister has plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the APC.

Lukman in a statement released on Friday described Fani-Kayode’s plan to join the ruling party as manipulative.

He further stated that based on consultations within the party, he is sure Fani-Kayode would not be allowed to join the party.
