The 2023 presidential campaign posters of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike have surfaced in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The posters were seen on Monday in different strategic locations across the capital city including places like Herbert Macaulay Way in the Central Business District, the headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and also opposite the Nigeria Defence College popularly called War College.
The posters were also seen on the fence of a building that served as the Buhari/Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Office in 2015 and 2019.
According to what was observed on the posters by our correspondent, the campaign posters were sponsored by the National President of Rescue Nigeria Movement, Jingiri Bala Mato.
The posters, which carried the logo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), promised that Wike will rescue Nigeria from insecurity, poverty, bandit and killing.
He was seen in one of the posters dressed in his native South-South wear with a bowler hat to match, while Wike appeared in a Northern outfit with a cap to match in the second poster.
Naija News reports Wike is serving his second and final term as the Governor of Rivers State and would be eligible to contest the nation’s highest political office in 2023 but he himself is yet to officially declare interest in the seat.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Sports during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first democratic term in office, Solomon Dalung has submitted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not lived up to the expectation from Nigerians.
He expressed the feeling during an interview with BBC Hausa where he lamented the alarming and unchecked rate of crime in the country.
Dalong, who noted that though he remains an APC member, the truth must be said.
In his view, the country has never had it this bad in terms of insecurity not only in the Northern region of the country but also other parts of Nigeria.
